I inspected five aerial applicators in San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Merced <br /> counties. A summary of the inspections is provided below. He continues to have <br /> problems with engine oil from the planes getting into his treatment system. The sump <br /> appears to lir; clogged and, the sump pump is reportedly not operating. <br /> Stains tiaat appear to be.pesticide spills were noted on the asphalt between the shop/office building and <br /> the gas pumps to the cast oftlic building. 'T'here were also heavy oil and grease deposits on the asphalt in <br /> this area.. <br /> ie aircraft are currently being washed at Patterson Flying Service, but arrangements are being made to <br /> reprice the concrete and install anew wastewater system within a.month or two. It will have a double <br /> lined sump and two above ground tanks. 1 indicated that they would not have to get preconstruction <br /> ., approval of the design if it was patterned after a system that had already received Regional Board <br /> review. I suggested. however, that it was advisable to contact us with his plans. <br /> i. '1'liey have tti+ro large dumpsters. One is for empty cardboard boxes which are recycled by Delta Paper. <br /> 'file other is for paper bags and seals from the pesticide bottles. The bags are reportedly triple rinsed, <br /> inspected by the Agricultural.Commissioner and taken to the transfer station in Tracy.
