shop, and two mobile homes are located near the southern property line. High-voltage
power lines cross this portion of the Site.
An irrigation well is located inside a shed near the southwest corner of this parcel; one
pole-mounted transformer is nearby. Two aboveground diesel storage tanks are on
stands near the power pole; one additional tank was lying on the ground. Mr. Navarra
indicated that these tanks are no longer in use. Approximately 13 tractor tires and a
burn pile were also observed in this area.
Agricultural equipment is stored along the southern property line to the west of the shop.
Two aboveground storage tanks are located to the east of the shop. Four drums of new
oil were observed near the northeast corner of the shop; three additional drums were
nearby under the overhanging roof of the shop. An aboveground waste oil tank was
also located in this area; Mr. Navarra indicated that the oil is periodically collected for
disposal by an outside contractor. At least 26 tires and a large amount of miscellaneous
small equipment were stored along the northern side of the shop. An enclosure for
used plastic drums and other agricultural chemical containers was also observed on the
northern side of the shop. Mr. Navarra indicated that he or an outside contractor
periodically dispose of the containers.
The single-family residence is located at the southeast corner of the parcel. A domestic
well was observed on the western side of the residence.
Approximately one-quarter of the way up the western side of the parcel is a pumping
station with filters for the sprinkler system. A pole-mounted transformer was observed
at this location which appeared to have a potential oil leak. No staining was observed to
the ground below. Mr. Navarra contacted PG&E regarding the status of this
transformer; PG&E indicated that the transformer is not damaged and no service is
required. Halfway up the western side of the parcel is the location of the drug lab debris
incident from June of 2009 (see Section 6.1); no visual evidence of the incident was
apparent. A second pumping station is located opposite this area on the eastern side of
the parcel; one pole-mounted transformer was observed at this station.
Blue stickers indicating that the transformers are free of polychlorinated biphenyls
(PCBs) were not observed on any transformer. Except where noted, staining was not
observed on the transformers.
Adjacent Land
The adjacent properties are orchards and open agricultural land with scattered rural
residences. No specific environmental concerns were noted.
LOGE 1117 Page 4
