As this could significantly increase the number of trucks,
and as how this could be a condition that could last for a month or more, a peak adjustment factor was
developed to reflect this condition. The peak daily truck generation was developed based on estimated
peak month production information provided by the applicant and other individual quarry operators. The
review of this information resulted in an average peak daily production estimate that is approximately 40-
percent higher than the average daily production. To account for the estimated peak production, the
im average daily truck loads shown in Table 7 were adjusted up by a factor of 1.4.
The resulting estimated peak daily truck generation from the proposed DeSilva Gates quarry both at start-
up and by the year 2027 is shown in Table 8. On a peak production day, Table 8 shows that the proposed
project will generate 224 truck trips per day at start-up increasing to 358 truck trips per day by the year
2027 resulting in an increase of 134 additional peak daily truck trips.
TABLE 8
DESILVA GATES QUARRY
START-UP AND YEAR 2027 PEAK DAILY TRUCK TRIP GENERATION
Average Daily Peak Daily
Average Yearly Production Truck Loads Adjustment Peak Daily Peak Daily 2-Way
Tons (25 Tons/Truck) Factor Truck Loads Truck Trips
At Start-Up:
500,000 80 1.4 112 224
Year 2027:
800,000 128 1.4 179 358
Net Increase in Yearly
'.
Production:
300,000 48 1.4 67 134
r.
Table 9 illustrates the estimated start-up and year 2027 distribution of all project trucks to the State
Highway System via the SR-132/Bird Road intersection. As shown in the table, approximately 25% of
the trucks generated by the proposed project are estimated to have origins/destinations to the northwest
via I-580, 50% are estimated to have origins/destinations to the north via I-5, 10% are estimated to have
origins/destinations to the south via 1-5, and 15% are estimated to have origins/destinations to the east via
SR-132.
L
2nd Draft DeSilva Gates Quany Trak&Circulation Analysis 15 October 2005
Jones&Stokes (R905T7S002 125-4000-02)
I
