The year 2027 base average daily truck generation was estimated based on the average yearly production
of 15,550,000 tons shown in Table 24, assuming 250 production days per year, and 25 tons of material
per truck. The resulting estimated average daily truck generation is shown in Table 25. As shown, an
average of 2,488 truck loads per day would be generated under the year 2027 base conditions which
would generate 4,976 two-way truck trips per day.
TABLE 25
. VERNALIS AREA AGGREGATE PRODUCTION SITES
YEAR 2027 BASE CONDITIONS AVERAGE DAILY TRUCK TRIP GENERATION
Average Daily Truck
Average Yearly Average Yearly Average Daily Luads Average Daily 2-Wav
Production Tons Production Das Prod action(Tons) (25 Tons/Truck) Truck Trips
15.550.000 250 62,200 2,488 4,976
` The average daily truck generation represents the number of truck trips that would be generated if each
quarry produces and exports the same amount of material each day and each month of the year. On a
yearly basis, there is generally one or more peak production months in which more aggregate is produced
then would be the monthly average. As this could significantly increase the number of trucks within the
study area and as how this could be a condition that could last for a month or more, a peak adjustment
factor of 1.4 (40-percent increase) was developed to reflect this condition. The resulting estimated peak
i daily truck generation is shown in Table 26. As shown, up to 3,483 truck loads are estimated on a peak
production day, which would generate 6,966 two-way truck trips per day.
TABLE26
VERNALIS AREA AGGREGATE PRODUCTION SITES
YEAR 2027 BASE CONDITIONS PEAK DAILY TRUCK TRIP GENERATION
Average Daily
Average Yearly Truck Loads Peak Daily Peak Daily Peak Daily 2-Way
Production Tons 25.'rons/Truck Adjustment Factor 'Truck Loads Truck.'rri s
15,550,000 2,488 1.4 3,483 6,966
Table 27 presents the estimated truck loading frequencies by hour of a typical day. The number of peak
daily two-way truck trips that would be generated by hour was estimated based on the 6,966 two-way
` truck trips shown in Table 26. The AM and PM peak hours were identified to include 6:00 to 7:00 a.m.
(AM peak hour) and 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. (PM peak hour). As shown in Table 27, these two hours would
have 698 and 168 two-way truck trips respectively that would be entering and exiting SR-132.
r
V
r
2nd Draft DeSilva Gates Quarry Traffic&Circulation Analysis 31 October 2005
Jones&Stokes (R905TIS002125-4000-02)
