Gilton Resource Recovery
Food By-Product / Feed Production Site
Odor Impact Minimization Plan
A. Receipt of Materials
From June to October operating hours will normally be between 6:00 AM and
8:00 PM; with occasional early morning or late evening deliveries. From March to
May typical operating hours will be 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM with no deliveries made
outside those hours. During the months of November to February we may
operate from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM but deliveries will be limited to only the amount
of material that can be solar dried that day. No materials will be received that
cannot be spread for drying within twenty-four (24) hours after delivery. No
deliveries will be made to the Site when existing or predicted weather conditions
are such that we could not reasonably be expected to dry the material within two
(2) days.
B. Drying and Removal of the Material
Preprocessed materials are thinly spread on the asphalt and concrete drying
pads. Based on time, temperature and wind conditions the materials are turned
and aerated multiple times to facilitate and accelerate the drying process. Once
the moisture content of the material reaches a range of 10 to 25percent, the
material is removed from the pad. Dried material is stored briefly at the Site and
then trucked directly to end users or to our processing / warehousing facility in
the Port of Stockton.
C. Moisture Content of Materials
Material delivered to the Site will have been preprocessed to the point where the
moisture content does not exceed 55 percent. At that point there is little, if any
free liquid. Materials will be removed from the Site when the moisture content
has reached a range of 10 to 25percent or in the case where weather conditions
will not allow drying operations to begin within two (2) days.
D. Feedstock Characteristics
The Site would be receiving the following types of organic materials that have
been preprocessed to remove excess moisture:
Tomato Pumice --FG-rape Pumice
Sweet Potatoes Potatoes
Pumpkins Parsley
Corn - Rice _ !
Almonds /Almond Shells Rice Hulls
OIMP
Page 4
2012-126 Attachments Attachment No 3-OIMP 12-06-20.doc
