The first issue
involves permitted versus proposed building square footage as
shown below:
APPROVED FROM PROPOSED
USE PERMIT (sq. ft. )
Transfer Building 120, 000 124 , 496
Office and Maint. 9 , 000 10, 496
Scalehouse 288 352
TOTAL 129, 288 135, 344
The total allowable square footage is up to 25% above the square
footage shown in the use permit. This amounts to 161, 610 sq. ft.
for the Lovelace Transfer Station. The proposed square footage
is only 5 percent above the approved use permit square footage,
so the proposed building sizes are allowable.
The second issue involves the construction of the access road.
The local fire district requested a 20' wide access road, and the
County was willing to construct the road to meet the fire
district's request. However, the Hayres wanted only a 10' road
and would not agree to allow the County to construct a 20' road.
County Counsel is currently in negotiations with the Hayres
attorney to try to resolve this issue.
