8 . 0 SIGNIFICANT IRREVERSIBLE ADVERSE ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES
Extraction of a non- renewable mineral resource could be considered to
be an irreversible environmental change . Additionally, during the
extraction process , the project will consume non- renewable fuels for
energy, also an irreversible change . However , these changes are not
considered to be of significance .
The proposed rehabilitation of the property upon completion of the
excavation will leave the property in a condition which will allow its
reuse . The property is used for orchard farming, and it will be
reclaimed as a replacement almond orchard, fallow agriculture land, or
for a subsequent use as a recreational facility containing a golf course
and driving range which is to be permitted under a separate application .
Although potential may exist for the proposed project to have a
significant impact on the environment , none have been identified, and
it is demonstrated that there will be no significant impacts because of
proposed mitigation measures as summarized elsewhere in this document .
No significant unmitigatable impacts or irreversible adverse
environmental changes will result from the Landmark Lathrop Group, LLC
operation .
Landmark Lathrop Group
1 - February 3, 2000
