By conducting or providing funding for techniques that increase production by identifying new <br /> processes, new techniques, or new crop potential on heretofore-limited agricultural production <br /> lands, i.e., converting grazing land to vineyards. <br /> 10. By conducting or funding programs that identify best agriculture management practices to <br /> increase efficiencies, such as land adjacent to wetlands, and potentially bring more agricultural <br /> land into production. <br /> 11. By conducting or funding Urban Limit Line studies that provide for improvement of geometric <br /> shape and compactness of urban development that reduce pressure to prematurely convert <br /> agricultural lands. <br /> The applicant is proposing a combination of mitigation measure# 1 and the maintenance of roadways used <br /> for farming, as follows: <br /> "The applicant shall provide mitigation for the loss of approximately four acres of agricultural land by <br /> providing $100 per acre to the appropriate reclamation district prior to the issuance of building <br /> permits. The applicant shall further maintain, as they have for the past ten years, access to the <br /> remaining 500 acres of land through the antiquated roadway designated as Hacienda Lane. This <br /> shall include weed abatement (cost of approximately $500 a year) and adding of road base as <br /> necessary to 25 feet of the 50-foot-wide County easement to ensure fire department access." <br /> This proposal is recommended as a condition of approval. <br /> San Joaquin County PA-02-364\Stockton Baptist Church & School <br /> Community Development Page 5 <br />
