9. By conducting or providing funding for techniques that increase production by identifying new
processes, new techniques, or new crop potential on heretofore-limited agricultural production
lands, i.e., converting grazing land to vineyards.
10. By conducting or funding programs that identify best agriculture management practices to
increase efficiencies, such as land adjacent to wetlands, and potentially bring more agricultural
land into production.
11. By conducting or funding Urban Limit Line studies that provide for improvement of geometric
shape and compactness of urban development that reduce pressure to prematurely convert
agricultural lands.
The applicant is proposing a combination of mitigation measure# 1 and the maintenance of roadways used
for farming, as follows:
"The applicant shall provide mitigation for the loss of approximately four acres of agricultural land by
providing $100 per acre to the appropriate reclamation district prior to the issuance of building
permits. The applicant shall further maintain, as they have for the past ten years, access to the
remaining 500 acres of land through the antiquated roadway designated as Hacienda Lane. This
shall include weed abatement (cost of approximately $500 a year) and adding of road base as
necessary to 25 feet of the 50-foot-wide County easement to ensure fire department access."
This proposal is recommended as a condition of approval.
San Joaquin County PA-02-364\Stockton Baptist Church & School
Community Development Page 5
