Rainer Ave. , applicant, James Darrah)
-------------------------------------------------------------------
On October 24 , 1995, Mike Huggins and Steven Mindt of San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Division (EHD) , met on site with Peter
Darrah to assess the property involved in the above mentioned
application. The information gathered on this visit indicates that
there are five (5) live-aboard units located in this marina that
lack mobility, in addition there are two (2) live-aboard units that
are mobile and fully operational, with "CF" numbers. The remaining
five (5) units at the marina are berthed at the marina for storage
purposes only. Mr. Darrah indicated that the occupants of the
live-aboard units dump their "grey-water" directly into the river
and because of this only have to use the pump-out station every
couple of months.
Because of these findings and being consistent with Chapter 11,
Section 13900 of The Porter-Cologne Water Quality Control Act, and
San Joaquin County Development Title Chapter 9-1125, and San
Joaquin County Sewage Standards, it is the recommendation of this
Department that:
1) All non-operational and non-approved boats that are
occupied, shall be connected to a land based sewage
disposal system.
2) The sewage disposal system shall be enlarged, under
permit from EHD to accommodate the addition of these
units (a minimum repair addition will be adequate) .
3) The connection or "hard-line" shall meet all applicable
standards.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
