PA-0200370 OF GEORGE REED <br /> The applicant has submitted a Quarry Excavation Application to remove 2.4 million cubic yards <br /> of rock, sand and gravel over a period of 12 years. There will not be a processing plant on the <br /> site. <br /> The site is located on the northeast corner of Harrold Road and River Road, southeast of Escalon. <br /> The Community Development Department has reviewed the proposed Site Approval application <br /> and offers the following comments. <br /> ni iahborbQQd Op ocn ition <br /> The Community Development Department has received two letters and a petition from neighbors <br /> opposed to the proposed project. The neighbors expressed concerns about the potential for <br /> increased noise, traffic and air pollution. They also expressed concern about the affect on <br /> farmland in the area. <br /> ouch S n Joaquin frig^tion District Pio line <br /> In a letter dated October 7, 2002, the South San Joaquin Irrigation District indicated that district <br /> policy requires that the pipeline be moved to a location along the outer perimeter of the <br /> excavation. The Community Development Department requires a revised map indicating the <br /> proposed location of the new pipeline. <br /> q m icti al St tdv <br /> The Community Development Department has reviewed the acoustic study submitted by the <br /> applicant and determined that the acoustical study is adequate. The mitigation measure <br /> suggested in the study will be included as a Condition of Approval. <br /> The Community Development Department will be recommending that this item be approved by <br /> the Planning Commission subject to the following recommended Conditions of Approval.
