PA-0200370 OF GEORGE REED The applicant has submitted a Quarry Excavation Application to remove 2.4 million cubic yards of rock, sand and gravel over a period of 12 years. There will not be a processing plant on the site. The site is located on the northeast corner of Harrold Road and River Road, southeast of Escalon. The Community Development Department has reviewed the proposed Site Approval application and offers the following comments. ni iahborbQQd Op ocn ition The Community Development Department has received two letters and a petition from neighbors opposed to the proposed project. The neighbors expressed concerns about the potential for increased noise, traffic and air pollution. They also expressed concern about the affect on farmland in the area. ouch S n Joaquin frig^tion District Pio line In a letter dated October 7, 2002, the South San Joaquin Irrigation District indicated that district policy requires that the pipeline be moved to a location along the outer perimeter of the excavation. The Community Development Department requires a revised map indicating the proposed location of the new pipeline. q m icti al St tdv The Community Development Department has reviewed the acoustic study submitted by the applicant and determined that the acoustical study is adequate. The mitigation measure suggested in the study will be included as a Condition of Approval. The Community Development Department will be recommending that this item be approved by the Planning Commission subject to the following recommended Conditions of Approval. This
