Nutrient water, clean irrigation water, or a blend can be used throughout the Acampo
Ranch, except for Field No. 9 (APNs 011-018-19,20) where nutrient water cannot be applied. Nutrient
water originates from the introduction of scraped heifer and calf wastes into the holding pond.
Clean irrigation water from irrigation wells are used to supply the needed irrigation water volumes.
Water traverses the primary irrigation conveyance ditch northward, westward and then southward,
near the west property border of the Ranch.
Irrigation water can also be obtained from the Woodbridge Irrigation District Canal traversing
- adjacent to the north property border of the Acampo Ranch. If in the event manured water must be
re-circulated over the cropland during periods of heavy rainstorm events, pumps within the
conveyance ditch would be used to pump water both in a north and south direction. Southern flow
would enter tailwater ditches to flow back into the primary conveyance ditch, while northern flow
would have to be pumped to the tops of the northern fields to flow back into the primary
conveyance ditch.
TAILWATER RECOVERY SYSTEM-ACAMPO RANCH
The tailwater recovery at the Acampo Ranch is accomplished by the primary water conveyance
ditch and smaller tailwater ditches at the ends of the fields that divert water back into the primary
conveyance ditch. The secondary pond at the south end of the southern open corrals accepts silage
runoff from the silage bunker and runoff from the south open corrals.
-12JJ
-
.
