KLEINFELDER
- observations it is Kleinfelder's opinion that some degradation of water quality has
occurred beneath the subject site likely due to the adjacent Owens Illinois operation and
or adjacent Tracy Biomass facility.
5) The Union Pacific Railroad track is adjacent and south of the subject site. Various
herbicides, metals and possibly even waste oil may have been used for weed control
along the railroad tracks. Creosote or pentachlorophenol may have been used to treat the
railroad ties in the rail bed. PCBs, oils, and solvents may be associated with said
railroad/railcar/locomotive maintenance.
6) Tracy Operators, located at 14,800 W. Schulte Road, adjacent and east of the subject site
appears on the HAZNET database due to the storage and/or generation of other inorganic
` solid waste, unspecified organic liquid mixture, waste oil and mixed oil, and other
organic solids. No violations are reported for the facility and according to the EDR
report; the waste is collected on site and taken to a recycler or a landfill for disposal.
Based upon this information the facility does not currently appear to pose an adverse
impact on the subject site. However based on groundwater data from MW-4 from the
Golder Associates report, chemical constituents have been reported in groundwater
beneath this facility, some of which exceed EPA WQGs related to drinking water
standards, including the petroleum constituent benzene. Based on the data summarized by
Golder Associates, it is Kleinfelder's opinion that this facility has the potential to impact
the subject site. For additional information refer to Section 4.2
7) GWF Energy, LLC, located at 14950 W. Schulte Road, adjacent and south of the subject
site appears on the HAZNET database due to the storage and/or generation of unspecified
oil-containing waste and other organic solids. No violations are reported for the facility
L and according to the EDR report; the waste is collected on site and taken to a landfill for
disposal. Based upon this information the facility does not currently appear to pose an
adverse impact on the subject site.
8) A pole-mounted transformer is located adjacent and east of the subject site. No evidence
of leakage, staining, or stressed vegetation was noted. The pole-mounted transformer
does not currently appear to pose an adverse impact on the subject site.
9) A sign for a subsurface fiber optic line is present on the northern boundary of the site.
Prior to site development, the local utility should be contacted.
10)A sign for a subsurface oil pipeline is present traversing the southwest comer of the site.
According to topographic maps a pipeline also trends southeast near the northeast portion
of the subject site. The southern pipeline was reportedly a Chevron crude oil pipeline.
Although the fire marshal did not have evidence of the pipeline leading in the area of the
subject site, it is Kleinfelder's experience that transmission pipelines do leak and
therefore there is a potential for this pipeline as well as the unknown pipeline in the
northern portion of the property to impact the subject site. If the client desires a greater
level of certainty regarding this potential environmental concern soil testing and analyses
is recommended adjacent to these pipelines.
