Ms. Balogh was not aware of any underground or above-ground storage tanks,
chemical storage, automotive maintenance, buried debris, dumping, or other
environmental issues on the Site.
John Farris, Ms. Balogh's son, accompanied Live Oak for the site visit. Mr. Farris
indicated that three wells are on the Site, a shallow, windmill-operated well, a domestic
well. and a well used for irrigation and filling cattle troughs. He stated that the windmill
well and one of the others are operational, he believes the domestic well is the one in
service. The pump for the third well burned out and has not been fixed yet, he said.
6.0 SITE DOCUMENTS
6.1 Environmental Health Department Records
The EHD was contacted regarding the Site address of 19625 North Southworth Road.
According to Cheryl Field of the EHD, no records are on file related to hazardous
materials (personal communication, September 16, 2013).
Live Oak reviewed the EHD well and septic permit files for the Site address. No permits
were identified on Southworth Road.
7.0 GOVERNMENT AGENCY RESEARCH
7.1 EPA Databases
The California Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) manages contaminated sites
through two sub-agencies: the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) and the
Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC). The SWRCB's GeoTracker database
includes underground storage tank (UST) sites, leaking underground storage tank
(LUST) sites, cleanup program sites, and land disposal sites. The database can be
searched by reviewing two lists, the Permitted Underground Storage Tank (UST) Sites
list and the Cleanup Sites list. DTSC's EnviroStor database includes Federal Superfund
sites, State response sites, voluntary cleanup sites, school cleanup sites, corrective
action sites, and permitted hazardous waste facilities.
Live Oak searched both the GeoTracker and Envirostor databases on September 12,
2013 for any listed sites within one-quarter mile of the Site The subject Site was not
listed on either database, and no listed facilities were identified within one-quarter mile.
LOGE 1321 Page 4
