15 April 2009
AGE-NC-09-1683
estimated as six gallons per day per person and visitor usage was estimated as three gallons per day
per person.
I
4.0. GROUND WATER INFORMATION-REGIONAL HYDROGEOLOGY
According to the Geologic Map of California, published in 1966 by the California Department of
Conservation Division of Mines and Geology, the site is within the Great Valley Geomorphic
Province(GVGP)of California,a large,elongate,northwest trending structural trough.The GVGP
is subdivided into two major divisions designated the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys, which
have been filled to the present elevation with thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from
f Jurassic to present day, creating a nearly flat lying alluvial plain extending from the Tehachapi
Mountains in the south to the Klamath Mountains in the north. The western and eastern boundaries
of this province are comprised of the California Coast Range and the Sierra Nevada Mountains,
respectively.
The United States Department of Agriculture Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, California(1992)
indicates the soil type for the site as Tokay, a fine sandy loam with 0 to 2 percent slopes (#256).
Tokay soil has been denoted as very deep and very well drained and nearly level soil. Permeability
is moderately rapid in Tokay soil. The pH level of Tokay soil ranges between 6.1 - 8.4 units with a
salinity of less than 2.0. Tokay soil generally consist of verywell drained moderate coarse oarse textured
soils that are deep to a cemented hardpan. Tokay soils generally formed in alluvium derived from
granitic rock sources.
The Modesto,Riverbank,Turlock Lake Formations and overlying recent alluvium are the principal
source of domestic ground water in the 13,500-square mile San Joaquin Valley Ground Water Basin
(Basin 5-22). This basin is drained primarily by the San Joaquin River. The nearest surface water
feature in the vicinity of the property is the South Main Canal, located approximately 1 mile
northeast of the site.
4.1. GROUND WATER DESCRIPTION FOR THE GENERAL AREA
2 The San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District's Lines of Equal Depth to
Ground Water-Fall 2008 indicate depth to ground water in site vicinity as between 40 feet and 50 (`r' /J
feet below surface grade(bsg)and a general ground water flow direction towards the southeast. As
part of an ongoing ground water investigation at 2448 Kettleman Lane(0.72 miles east of the site),
between the years 2003 and 2007, depth to water ranged from 45 feet to 52 feet bsg with ground
water flow predominantly towards the south-southwest.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
