Description of the Vicinity: <br /> Site Description: <br /> The existing facility is located on two sites. <br /> The 45.75 milking facility is located on APN#55-130-01. The total size of the parcel is 76.49 ac. with <br /> 36.74 ac. currently used for farming. The addition of the new milk parlor and new settling pond will <br /> remove 6 ac. from the farming operation. <br /> The heifer facility is located on APN#055-140-07. The total size of the parcel is 24.23 ac. with 15.7 <br /> ac. currently used for farming. The addition of the new feed lanes and corrals will remove 8.86 ac from <br /> the farming operation. <br /> The milking facility is in the NW 1/4 of Section 24 of Township 3N,Range 5E. The heifer facility is in <br /> the SE 1/4 of Section 13 of Township 3N, Range 5E. <br /> Directions <br /> Leaving from downtown Stockton,the facility is approximately 12.7 miles east on Interstate 5. Take <br /> the CA-12 exit towards LODI/FAIRFIELD. 0.2 miles Merge onto CA-12 E. 0.1 miles Turn RIGHT onto <br /> THORNTON RD. 1.2 miles. Reference vicinity map,appendix I-G. <br /> Description Of Vicinity <br /> The surrounding area is predominantly farming properties. The parcel to the southwest is a cherry <br /> orchard operation. The parcel directly to the west is an irrigated pasture for cattle. The parcels to the north <br /> are almond orchards. The Van Exel dairy is located approximately five miles to the north. <br /> The White Slough Water Pollution Control Plant is located approximately 1/4 of a mile to the west. <br /> The White Slough is located approximately one mile to the west. Thornton Road runs along the east side <br /> of Interstate 5.
