In addition to the basketball games, the multi-purpose room will be used for major dinners and
special events. These events will occur on Friday or Saturday evenings, and there will be
approximately 5 per year. The average attendance at these events will be approximately 500,
and will generate approximately 250 vehicles.
Campus-Wide Events
The annual Fall Festival will move from the Eaton Campus to the Valpico Campus. This parish
fundraising event involves all aspects of the parish community. It is a three day event in
September(Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday), including a carnival, dinners, and an auction, in
addition to the typical Saturday and Sunday mass schedule. Over the entire three day event,
attendance will be approximately 2000.
Phase 1
Phase 1 will be the multi-purpose room, and it will be built immediately. It will be used for
masses, basketball gamma I and special events. There will be a seating capacity of 800 for masses,
and 500 for dinners. l
There will be two evening masses on Saturdays, between 5 pm and 7 pm, with an average
attendance of 700. There will be three masses on Sundays between 7 am and 12 pm, with an
average attendance of 700. There will be two additional masses for special celebrations on
Christmas and Easter. Masses will be scheduled so cars leaving one mass do not conflict with
cars arriving for the next mass.
We anticipate only very large funerals will occur, maybe once or twice per year, and no
weddings.
The sports schedule would be implemented, as described above.
The Fall Festival will be moved to the Valpico Campus upon completion of phase 1.
Additional Phases
The remaining phases are described in the attached booklet. They are planned to be built over
the next ten years. The exact order and timing of the phases will be based on need and
fundraising.
Utilities
Tr affi c
The applicant has requested the County to conduct a traffic study for the site. As explained
above, much consideration was given to traffic considerations in our design process. We have
minimized the impacts of the school peak by moving all the cueing on site, and the scheduling of
the masses and special events will minimize the traffic impact, recognizing that the impacts will
happen at very off-peak times. The applicant is expecting discussion with the traffic engineer
and public works on limitations on turn movements and tum pockets. The applicant hopes to
defer as many frontage and off-site improvements to later phases as possible.
-- , _ . - _- s- ;.r_-----. •v-^.f--smac.---
