The project must conform to the appropriate edition of the California Fire Code (currently the <br /> 2013 edition) and all related standards. <br /> 2. In order to commence construction beyond the foundation stage or storage of building materials, <br /> requirements for emergency vehicle access and adequate water for fire suppression shall be <br /> provided in accordance with Chapter 5, Fire Service Features, Section 501.4, Section 503, and <br /> Section 507 of the 2013 California Fire Code. Chapter 5 may be applied in part or in whole, as <br /> needed. <br /> 3. An approved water supply for fire protection,either temporary or permanent, shall be made <br /> available as soon as combustible material arrives on the site. <br /> 4. Approved vehicle access for fire fighting shall be provided to all construction or demolition sites. <br /> Vehicle access shall be provided to within 100 feet(30 480 mm)of temporary or permanent fire <br /> department connections. Vehicle access shall be provided by either temporary or permanent <br /> roads, capable of supporting vehicle loading under all weather conditions.Vehicle access shall <br /> be maintained until permanent fire apparatus access roads are available. <br /> 5. Where access to or within area or structure is restricted because of secured openings or where <br /> immediate access is necessary for life-saving or fire-fighting purposes, a key box is required to <br /> be installed in an approved location. The key box shall be of an approved type and shall contain <br /> keys to gain necessary access as required by the fire code official. <br /> 6.
