Walker @ Main Property Page 6 Our Project Number: E07021A March 15, 2007 The subject property was observed to be a flat rectangular area. The northern section of the property was an open field. The center section of the property was being used for row crop _ farming. The southern section of the property was an open field with a farm equipment storage yard. _ At the northern portion of the property within the fenced borders at 748 S. Walker Lane, staining was observed around a 55 gallon drum, and an inoperable vehicle observed. Concrete debris was located outside of the fenced area along the east side of the fence. An old well was observed at the northern portion of the property. A few tires were observed along the southwest portion of the property along Walker Lane. Two pole-mounted transformers were observed at the southeast corner of the property. The northern transformer was marked with a blue PCB-free sticker. No staining was evident around the transformers. At the southwest corner of the property was an old shed that contained a water tank, and a domestic well was located to the south. Farm equipment was stored near the southeast portion of the property. Staining was observed under a tractor and an odor was present. Some of the farm equipment was observed to be rusty. Two above ground storage tanks were present; they appeared to be _ empty. Empty Bucanneer Herbicide containers, two batteries, bags of fertilizer and approximately a dozen containers of unknown substances were observed. An agricultural well was present and staining was observed around the base of the well. Due to high vegetation, staining of the soil may not have been seen. Surrounding properties were surveyed at the time of the site reconnaissance. To the north of the subject property was a residence and open field. To the south was Main Street and agriculture with scattered residences. Along the eastern border of the property is an open field with residences. To the west of the property is Walker Lane and open fields with scattered residences. 3.2 Past On-Site Sources of Contamination No potential above- or below-ground on-site potential or known sources of contamination were identified from past uses of the site, except for the following: The property has been used for agricultural purposes in the past. It is likely that agricultural chemicals were applied to the subject property. _ 3.3 Current On-Site Sources of Contamination No above- or below-ground on-site potential or known sources of contamination were identified from current uses of the site, except for the following: • Soil staining was observed on the property.
