Walker a Main Property Page 7
Our Project Number: E07021A
March 15, 2007
Rusty farm equipment was observed on the property.
• A leaky 55 gallon drum was located on the property.
• Concrete debris was observed on the property.
3.4 Past Off-Site Sources of Contamination
_ No above- or below-ground on-site potential or known sources of contamination were
identified from current uses of the site, except for the following:
The surrounding properties have a history of being used for agricultural purposes. It is
Likely that agricultural chemicals were applied.
3.5 Current Off-Site Sources of Contamination
No above- or below-ground on-site potential or known sources of contamination were
identified from current uses of the site, except for the following:
• Surrounding properties are used for agriculture; agricultural chemicals may be applied
to these properties.
4.0 EVALUATION OF IDENTIFIED CONTAMINATION SOURCES
Agricultural chemical residues may remain on the property. No evidence was found,
however, to indicate that the chemicals were applied inappropriately.
_ The rusting metal located on the property may leach metals into the surface soils at the site.
The above-ground storage tanks are not within a secondary containment area. Any and all
Leaks could potentially impact the soil.
If water wells are not property operated and maintained, they can serve as contamination
conduits to groundwater. Septic systems may be used for inappropriate disposal of hazardous
substances. In this case, there is no evidence to suggest that wells or septic systems may be
contaminant pathways on the subject property or vicinity.
5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Given the historical uses of agricultural chemicals and petroleum products on the subject
property, meaningful conclusions regarding the presence or extent of such material cannot be
determined without soil sampling analysis. Such sampling and analysis is especially warranted
in the conversion of agricultural land into residential use, as is the case for this property.
Should future residents of the subject property be interested in determining the quality of
their drinking water, EHD should be contacted for direction regarding the potential for
impacts to groundwater from the agricultural history of the property and vicinity.
NEIL 0 . ANDERSON
AND ASSOCIATES
902 Industrial Way•Lodi, CA 95240
02007 Neil 0. Anderson it Associates, Inc.
