The Semi-Annual Report does not include a discussion of quality
assurance/quality control (QA/QC) evaluation of the analytical data. The laboratory reports
included in the Semi-Annual Report show that several of the surrogate recoveries were outside of
laboratory acceptable ranges. WFS needs to evaluate and discuss the integrity of the samples
based on the QA/QC review of the laboratory data.
The Supplemental Information includes cleanup goals for soil and groundwater that are
protective of the probabilistic 95`h percentile health risk for an on-site residential child,
deterministic approach protective of both a one-in-a-million cancer risk and a non-cancer risk for
an on-site residential child, evaluation of volatilization of groundwater constituents into indoor
_ air pathways, and supplemental groundwater elevation information as requested in Regional
Board staff's 5 December 2002 letter. Regional Board staff worked with GeoSyntec Consultants
to prepare the attached Table 1, which lists the cleanup goals for the site. Table 1 shows the
range of highest concentrations for soil and groundwater, water quality objectives (WQO),
California Environmental Protection Agency
0 Recycled Paper
The energy challenge facing California is real.
