(1) Any opening-in the perimeter Protective Barrier that is less than or equal to three (3) inches shall require a minimum 12-inch setback from the Electrified Security Fence (IEC 60335-2-76-Standard)._ _(2) Any-opening in the perimeter Protective Barrier that is greater than three (3) inches shall require a,minimum 36-inch setback-from the electrified security fence or the addition of an approved mesh barrier with openings not to exceed three (3) inches. (3) When abutting existing--or planned residential zones, or parcels with residential structures,-perimeter Protective Barriers consisting-of a minimum 6-foot-high solid wood or black wall shall require-a r-ninirrrum 12-inch setback from an Electrified Security Fence. Any other Protective.Barrier is required-to-have_an approved mesh installed as a secondary protective barrier, be at-least 6-feet high,.and a minimum 12-inch setback from-an Electrified Security Fence. (f)- -Before the Electrified Security_Fence is electrified, a Knox box will be installed and the security fence will be inspected by the Fire Department. The Knox box shall be fully operational at all ti=mes that the Electrified Security Fence is operational. I{at any time the Knox box isnot fully operational-then-the Electrified Security Fence cannot be activated. (g). Uses and Locations- -(1)-Unless specifically designated in this subsection Electrified Security-Fences shall-not—be permitted in any zoning district. (2)_Electrified Security Fences shall be authorized in I-W, I-P; C-L,-!-G, AG-AL, AU and ARM zones. (3) Electrified Security Fences shall be authorized in the CC & CG zones, but-only for the following-Land Uses (Table 9-4052): (A.)-Auction Sales (Indoor, Outdoor),_Automotive Sales and Services (Automotive Rentals, Automotive Repairs [Light/Heaq], Automotive--Sales, Operable Vehicle Storage, Parking), Construction Sales, Construction_Services (Light), Custom -Manufacturing,-Equipment-Sales& Repair (Farm Machinery [Sales], Leisure), P!ursery Sales & Services (Wholesale, Landscaping Services), Rers-onal Storage; Transportation Services, Marinas, Truck Sales and-Services (Sales), Utility-Services (Minor, Major), Wholesaling &-Distribution (Light), and Communication Services. (B)-Or, uses determined by the D=irector of Community Development to be similar to the uses--described in subsection (i)(c)(1). (h) Permits. (1)- Director's Determination and a Building Permit are required for Electrified Security Fences in all CC and CG zoning districts. (2) I-W, I-P, I-L, I-G, AG, AL, AU and ARM Zoning Districts will require a Building Permit for fences exceeding seven-feet in height. (3) C-RS, C-X zoning districts will require Director review pursuant to subsection 9-1022.6.
