Proiect Number 1804BK04 March 22 2007
The well location, current status and future sampling rationale for each well are discussed
below:
MW-1 BB: This well is located within the PCE plume core along East Pine Street. This well has
been sampled quarterly from April 2003 through September 2006. PCE has been detected at
concentrations ranging from 81 micrograms per liter (pg/L) to 397 pg/L during this time period.
Although this well monitors the PCE plume core, it is located relatively close to MW-7BB, which
is proposed to be sampled on a quarterly basis. As such, well MW-1 BB is proposed to be
sampled on an annual basis.
MW-2BB: This well is the most upgradient groundwater monitoring well, located along East Elm
Street. This well has been sampled quarterly from April 2003 through September 2006. PCE
has been detected at concentrations ranging from 1.1 pg/L to 5.0 pg/L during this time period.
However, PCE has been reported as non-detect in this well since December 2004. As it is likely
that PCE will continue to be reported as non-detect in this well, it is proposed that this well be
sampled on a semi-annual basis instead of a quarterly basis.
MW-3BB: This well is located along North Stockton Street just outside of the northern plume
core area. This well has been sampled quarterly from April 2003 through September 2006.
PCE has been detected intermittently at concentrations ranging from 2.1 pg/L to 30 pg/L during
this time period. As this well is not located within the PCE plume core area and sufficient
analytical data is provided by wells MW-06 and MW-BBB, it is proposed that this well be
sampled on a semi-annual basis instead of a quarterly basis.
MW-4BB: This well is an upgradient groundwater monitoring well, located along North Main
Street. This well has been sampled quarterly from April 2003 through September 2006. PCE
has been detected at concentrations ranging from 10 pg/L to 30 pg/L during this time period. As
this well monitors the northern portion of the PCE plume core, it should continue to be
monitored on a quarterly basis.
MW-5BB: This well is located along East Oak Street and helps in defining the PCE plume core.
This well has been sampled quarterly from April 2003 through September 2006. PCE has been
detected at concentrations ranging from 25 pg/L to 97 pg/L during this time period. This well is
located relatively close to EX-1 BB, which is monitoring the plume core on a quarterly basis. As
such, well MW-5BB is proposed to be sampled on an annual basis because well MW-9BB which
is equally equidistant to EX-1 BB is proposed for sampling on a quarterly basis.
MW-6BB: This well is located within the southern end of the PCE plume core along East
Walnut Street. This well has been sampled quarterly from May 2003 through September 2006.
PCE has been detected at concentrations ranging from 2.5 pg/L to 14 pg/L during this time
period. As this well monitors the down gradient portion of the PCE plume, it should continue to
be monitored on a quarterly basis.
MW-06: This well is an upgradient groundwater monitoring well, located adjacent to sewer
manhole K2090. This well has been sampled quarterly from September 2005 through
September 2006. PCE has been detected at concentrations ranging from 63 pg/L to 200 pg/L
during this time period. As this well monitors the northern portion of the PCE plume core, it
should continue to be monitored on a quarterly basis.
E2C Remediation 2
