The
facility will be located at 22370 North Bezley Road, Clements. The project site will also include
a 672 square foot off-premise billboard not tied to the facility. The Department has the following
comments:
• Please provide the following to Caltrans for review and comment prior to project approval:
o The number of storage spaces and the trip generation for this project facility.
o An aerial map superimposed with the proposed accesses from SR 88 based on the
current Caltrans Highway Design Manual and Transportation Research Board(Access
Management Application Guidelines) to show the width of the driveway and the
recommended through-length clearly.
o The corner sight distance at the proposed access on State Route 88.
o Off-tracking analysis at proposed access for all turn movements to and from SR 88
based on the longest type of truck this facility will use.
• Caltrans recommends that the proposed access point on Bezley Road be moved south to
align with Walnut Street as closely as possible. The access point should be a minimum of
150 feet from the Bezley Road/SR 12 intersection.
• The developer needs to ensure that the existing State drainage facilities will not be significantly
impacted by the project. If historical undeveloped topography shows drainage from this site
flowed into the State Right-of-Way, it may continue to do so with the conditions that peak flows
"Caltrans improves mobility across California"
