STANDARD PUBLIC ENVIRONMENTAL RECORD SOURCES
County and State environmental records were reviewed for sites which may have impacted the
subject property. The databases accessed indicate a potential problem with the underlying
`groundwater originating from the Harney Landfill. There were no other sites of concern
indicated. Environmental impact from the defunct Harney Landfill Station is unknown at this
tir e. It is conceivable that ere may be groundwater impact in the future.
The Arismendi's have owned the property for approximately twenty five years. Due to this
length of ownership, prior owners of the subject property were not investigated.
Past surrounding land use has been agricultural production and very low density residential,
ranches and ranchettes. Records at the San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner's office
indicate vineyards and pasture are the predominate crops grown in this area.
There are three primary sources of information which document and define past land use,
although they are occasionally difficult to interpret. The first is the use of aerial photographs.
Aerial photographs of the subject area in the 1950's and 1960's located at the University of
California at Davis indicate no changes in the subject property, as best as could be determined.
The second type of information are United States Department of Agriculture aerial photos (See
Appendix). The 1971 map illustrates the referenced house and a hay barn on the subject
property. The United States Geological Survey map illustrates the contour of the property, the
house and hay barn.
INFORMATION FROM SITE RECONNAISSANCE AND INTERVIEWS
The following information was obtained visually and/or through an interview with Mr. Luis
Arismendi: The subject property contains no underground or above ground liquid fuel storage
tanks (USTs/ASTs). There is an on-site, conventional septic system with a tank, leachfield area
and seepage pits (assumed). There were no containers noted on-site.
The subject property was surveyed for evidence which is indicative of surface and/or subsurface
contamination: There are no transformers on-site. Therefore, there is no concern of
polychloride biphenyls (PCBs) contamination. There was no evidence of solid waste disposal.
The site was carefully inspected for environmental concerns originating from discolored,
disturbed or subsided soils, stressed vegetation or unusual or noxious odors. None of these
environmental indicators were present. No hazardous materials are stored in the referenced
detached garage and there was no indication or observations of spills, drums or other items
associated with hazardous materials in or around this garage.
2
Vaffey Aq P,searck
