k' ■ K L E I N F E L D E R
7 FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS
Kleinfelder performed this Phase I Environmental Site Assessment in accordance with the scope
and limitations of ASTM Practice E 1527-97. The purpose of this assessment was to evaluate
recognizable environmental conditions associated with the present or past usage, storage, or
disposal of hazardous substances or petroleum hydrocarbons at the subject site. The findings of
this environmental assessment are presented below, and are based on Kleinfelder's knowledge of
the subject site from our site observations and information gathered during our review. These
findings are subject to the limitations presented at the end of this report, and may change if
additional information becomes available.
7.1. BACKGROUND
Based upon our review of aerial photographs, the site was historically been used as a rural
residential area and a vacant (field. The known agricultural use of the site has been open range.
dry crop grain and hay productloll.
7.2. FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS
!' Based upon the results of our research. Kleinfelder makes the following observations regarding
! the site.
1) Environmentally persistent pesticides are generally not applied to rangeland and dry crop
grain. No obvious evidence of auricultural chemical mixing areas or dumping were noted in
the aerial photographs reviewed or during the site reconnaissance. Normal agricultural
chemical use for crop production generally does not trigger enforcement actions or
assessment requirements by environmental regulatory agencies. If further evaluation of this
issue is desired. soil sampling and analysis could be conducted.
2) On properties with a history 'oi' agricultural use, many underground pipelines may exist. It
was common for said pipelines to contain asbestos (e.g. Transite pipe). Subsurface
exploration is not a part ol'a typical Phase I Environmental Site Assessment scope of work.
In the event that any subsurface structures are encountered during site development or
excavation on site, care should he exercised in determining whether or not the subsurface
structures contain asbestos. If' they contain asbestos, they should be removed, handled,
transported, and disposed of in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Additionally. iii suspect materials are encountered, the signatories of this report should be
notified.
20-4354-01.1101/2017It76I 1'aec 17 of20
Copyright 1999 Kleinfelder.
