Union Ice Company ' July 3, 1996
Mr. Brett Larson 953-7001
J
Comment; The table summarizing the historic groundwater analytical results contained a number of
errors including the dates of sample collection and the analytical results from samples
collected on May 5, 1995 from MW9 and MW1I
Response: The e table summarizing the historic groundwater analytical results was revised
accordingly. Where known, the data were revisedto include the day of sampling
as requested by the SJCEHD. 4
Comment: The volume of remaining soil contamination was not estimated nor the effect which the
average concentration of residual soil contamination may have on groundwater in the
future, !
Response: As discussed with the SJCEHD, it is not reasonable to attempt to estimate the
mass of residual petroleum hydrocarbon at the site. However, the text in Sections
3 and 4 have been expanded to address the SJCEHD concerns. The residual
- contamination is minor. The concentrations"of TPHg and BTEX detected in
groundwater is below or very near MCL levels for(hese substances.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to call.
Sincerely, p
i
GOLDER ASSOCIATES INC.
Diane L. armiento,P.E. ; #
Senior En e '
David C.
