hq KLEINFELDER
Task 3 -- Laboratory Analysis
Each of the soil and water samples selected for quantitative analysis will be submitted under
chain-of-custody control to a laboratory certified by the State of California Department of Toxic
Substances Control (DTSC) for the requested analyses. Samples will be analyzed on an
accelerated laboratory turnaround schedule, requiring 5 working days for receipt of analytical
data.
One soil sample and one water sample from each hydropunch boring will be analyzed for:
• Total Purgeable Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Gasoline by EPA Method 8015M/LUFT
• Total Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Diesel by EPA Method 8015M/LUFT
• Fuel Oxygenates (MTBE. ETBE, TBA, DIPE, TAME and Ethanol) by EPA Method
8260
Task 4 -- Prepare Report of Findings
Upon completion of soil and groundwater sampling, and receipt and review of analytical results,
a report will be prepared for client review. The report will include:
• A description of field activities, observations, and protocols;
• Lithologic logs;
• Results of the sample analysis with copies of certified analytical laboratory results
with chain-of-custody documentation;
• Description and documentation of QA/QC procedures employed for field and
laboratory work; and
• An assessment of the results with conclusions and recommendations for
additional assessment or remediation if warranted.
CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES AND ASSUMPTIONS
This proposal and the attached cost estimate are based on the following assumptions and
responsibilities:
• Home Depot USA Inc. will supply Kleinfelder with access to the site and owner
authorization for the proposed sampling.
• Adequate work space and access will be provided. Kleinfelder will attempt to advance
soil borings and collect samples at the proposed locations. If the drilling equipment
cannot be positioned, alternative drilling locations or sampling methods should be
investigated.
20-YP9-022/2019PI56 Page A-3
Copyright 1999 Kleinfelder, Inc.
