We present this work plan to the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department and request approval to perform the services described below.
The purpose of our services is to abandon an existing onsite well discovered during a recent site
reconnaissance. Grading for site development is planned for later this year.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The subject site is located on the east side of Lammers Road, north of Feteira Way. The well to
be abandoned is located approximately 150 feet north of Feteira Way near the western property
boundary along Lammers Road. Based on information provided to us by the Environmental
Health Department of San Joaquin County, the well was installed under permit in 1994. The
well casing is 2-inch diameter PVC and is screened from 4 to 14 feet below the ground surface
(bgs). A site visit and reconnaissance found that the well bottom is set at approximately 14.6
feet bgs. The water level at the time of our exploration was measured at approximately 9.1 feet
bgs. The top of the well is protected by a metal standpipe and is encased in concrete at the
ground surface.
San Joaquin County records indicate that groundwater in the immediate vicinity of the site has
no known contamination; however, groundwater to the north (down-gradient) near Byron Road
has been impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons. Records conclude that water samples collected
from nearby wells on the Westgate project resulted in ND (not detected) when analyzed for a
variety of suspected contaminants.
2880 North Tracy Boulevard•Suite 3•Tracy,CA 95376•(209)835-0610•Fax(209)835-0675
www.engeo.com
