0963c*-5 <br /> 6.1 Medical Monitoring <br /> All WCC employees assigned to the sampling operations must be active <br /> participants in WCC's Employee Medical Surveillance Program. WCC's <br /> program requires employees assigned to hazardous waste site <br /> investigations to take preassignment, annual, and exit medical <br /> examinations. <br /> The program is designed to screen employees for suitability for <br /> hazardous waste project assignments, identify work-related illnesses <br /> and injuries, and support employee health. As a minimum, the <br /> examinations include: gathering information on family and personal <br /> medical history through interview, EKG, pulmonary function test, <br /> complete physical examination, liver and kidney function tests <br /> (SMAC 20) , urinalysis, zinc protoporphyrin, and serum cholinesterase. <br /> Medical and exposure monitoring records are maintained in accordance <br /> with OSHA requirements specified in 29CFR 1910.20. These records as <br /> well as Certificates of Fitness signed by the examining physician will <br /> be made available to the ,Corps of Engineers upon request. ) <br /> W <br /> 6.2 Work-Rest Schedule <br /> No special work-rest schedule is required. Air temperatures and <br /> humidity are expected to be in a relatively comfortable range during <br /> spring and because the physical work will be light to moderate, no <br /> J undue stress should be encountered even with protective equipment on. <br /> Because of the above, no heat or cold stress monitoring is necessary. <br /> 3 <br /> 6.3 Safety Training <br /> As a minimum, field personnel must receive training in the use and <br /> care of respirators and attend a site-specific safety orientation <br /> seminar, conducted by a qualified individual.
