June 16, 2004
NOA Project Number: E04069A
2.2 Vicinity Use
The Site is located within an area of mixed vacant, agricultural, and residential land. The
Mokelumne River defines the northern boundary of the Site. A wastewater treatment facility
is located to the south and east of the Site.
3.0 EXISTING AND PROPOSED SEPTIC TANK USAGE
3.1 Existing On-Site Septic Tank Usage
Mr. Nordman indicated during the June 8th interview that, to the best of his knowledge, the
Site has never been developed.
3.2 Site Septic and Septic Repair Permit History
No septic permits for the Site were found during file review at EHD.
3.4 Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
In an attempt to determine the septic system density for the vicinity of the Site, our office
reviewed a 1993 aerial photograph available from Microsoft Terraserver
(www.terraserver.microsoft.com). We counted the building clusters within one square mile
surrounding the Site, and made the assumption that each building cluster has one septic
system. Using this method, we estimated that there are a minimum of five septic systems per
square mile in the immediate vicinity of the Site. A residential subdivision is located to the
southeast of the Site.
3.5 Septic and Septic Repair Permit History in the Vicinity
The following septic system permits and septic repair permits were found for the vicinity of
the Site during file review at EHD:
3 'A4
