Regional Board, plus one additional sample from the
approximate midline of the pit. Any additional sampling
required by the County would also be performed.
it is estimated that the dimension of the excavation will be
8x12xI0 feet. If hydrocarbons are encountered, it is
anticipated that approximately IS cubic yards of additional
soil will be removed. The soil will be placed on visquene
which has been laid over berms to facilitate , storm-water
runoff. The entire mound will also be covered with visquene
pending analytical results. All soil will be disposed of
properly following current federal, state and local rules and
regulations.
Soil samples will be transported to a state approved
laboratory for chemical analysis and all"lproper chain of
custody protocol will be followed. The following are the
test methods that will be used to analyze the soil samples:
• EPA Method 8020 for BETX with a methodJdetection limit of
. 005 mg/kg.
. EPA method 7420 for total lead with a method detection
limit of . 5mg/kg.
. EPA method 8010 (modified) for TPHD with a method detection
of . 03 mg/kg.
This plan is site specific and will onlyladdress the
excavation associated with removal of the 2 , 000 gallon diesel
tank.
