Wildwood LNG Demonstration Facility
6. OPERATIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
6.1 Waste Stream Handling
The facility will not generate any waste streams other than engine exhaust. Well gas containing
methane and nitrogen will be the feed to the plant. Of the feed to the plant, between 65 and 70%
of the methane will be recovered from the process as pure LNG. The residual methane and other
materials contained in the feed gas (nitrogen, CO2, and trace amounts of non-methane
hydrocarbons) will be piped to the engine-generator set as fuel for that unit.
6.2 Health and Safety Considerations
The proposed project will not create health hazards to workers or the environment. The
feedstock to the plant is natural gas, which, except for flammability is not considered hazardous.
No waste streams will be produced from the demonstration plant other than engine-generator
exhaust that will utilize BACT.
Operation of the plant will be remotely monitored and fire detection is part of this system.
Because the proposed project is a demonstration plant, permanent fire protection equipment, i.e.
a permanent source of water, will not be required. Approved portable fire extinguishers will be
provided. Approved and appropriate signage will be located on the perimeter fencing advising of
potential hazards and providing emergency contact information.
6.3 Energy Utilization
The proposed plant will be completely self-sufficient with regard to energy requirements. All of
the electrical energy required for the operation will be generated on site using the non-pipeline
quality natural gas feed to the plant as fuel. No connection to the electrical grid will be required.
In addition to providing power for the actual liquefaction of the natural gas, sufficient power w
be generated to supply the needs for the site lighting, truck scales, and the LNG dispensing
facility.
6.4 Sewerage
The proposed facility will be unmanned and with not incorporate sanitary facilities or wastewater
disposal. Therefore sewer hookup is not required.
AES Construction Group
Page 12
