�� KLEINFELDER <br /> 3 ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES <br /> 3.1 RECORD REVIEW <br /> The following individuals, representing various government agencies, were contacted for <br /> information regarding the subject property and surrounding areas: <br /> The Deartment of Health Services - Site Evaluation and Mitigation Unit DHS <br /> (Mr. Scott Flint, Ms. Vicki Vandergriff) was contacted for information regarding the <br /> subject site and immediate vicinity, and available files were reviewed. The DHS had no <br /> available information for the subject site or the former Mobil Oil Bulk Plant at 500 E. <br /> Grant Line Road. The Abandoned Site Proeram Information System (ASPIS) ales were <br /> reviewed and contained preliminary information regarding the PG & E facility located <br /> adjacent west of the subject site. The PG & E facility is currently being investigated by the <br /> RWQCB. <br /> The DHS had information on the former Handyman facility located north of and <br /> surrounded on the east, south, and west by the subject site. The DHS is performing an <br /> initial assessment of the facility due to underground storage tanks that were present but no <br /> information was available regarding the assessment. The RWQCB was listed as the lead <br /> agency for this facility. <br /> The ReLvional Water Quality Control Board (RWMZ(,B) (Ms. Antonia Vorster, <br /> Messrs. Gary Reents, Gary Johnson, Robert Evans,and Mat Lease) had no files or record <br /> of investigations for the subject site. Mr. Gary Johnson indicated that most of their <br /> information on underground storage tank problems is provided by the SJCLHD. <br /> The RWQCB did have a file for the former Handyman facility at 724 E. Grant Line Road. <br /> Two underground storage tanks containing petroleum products were removed from the <br /> facility in August 1987. The facility is owned by Reynolds and Brown. Reynolds and <br /> Brown authorized a soil and ground water assessment, including the installation of one <br /> monitoring well. According to Mr. Mat Lease, no contamination of soil-or ground water <br /> was found in samples taken on June 7, 1988, and the owner is awaiting RWQCB approval <br /> 137-88-1690 5 <br />
