KLEINFELDER
east of the Leprino Foods facility. No other information on this incident or the Leprino
Foods facility was indicated in the file.
The city ofTracv Public Works Department (Mr. John Jones) was contacted regarding the
abandoned well located adjacent northwest of the subject site. The former well was
located on the City of Tracy property adjacent to and surrounded on the south, east, and
north by the northwest corner of the subject site. The well was reportedly abandoned
following SJCLFD procedures, according io Mr.Jones.
There are no city municipal wells located within 1/2 mile of the subject site. There is no
known ground water contamination associated with the municipal wells in the vicinity of
the subject site. The last sample date was February 10, 1988. Their wells are sampled
every three years for Title 22 Drinking Water limits.
The depth to ground water in the vicinity of the subject site is approximately 7 to 10 feet to
the first aquifer, which is of poor quality. The ground water flow direction is from the
south-southeast to the north-northwest.
The San Toaauin County Public Works Department (Mr. Dick Ling) was contacted
regarding the presence of municipal wells in the vicinity of the subject site. This agency
does not maintain ,municipal wells within three miles of the subject site. There are no wells
in the City of Tracy monitored by this agency that are contaminated, according to Mr. Ling.
The last date samples were taken was April 20, 1987, for Title 22 Drinking Water limits.
The San Toaauin County A_ ljculturnl Commission (Mr. Ray Mahoney) was contacted
regarding the agricultural history of the subject site. This agency maintains records of
restricted pesticide usage on agricultural land. Their records go back only four to five years
in most cases. According to Mr. Ray Mahoney, the carbamate pesticide furadan was used
by Ernest Pombo on alfalfa grown on the subject site in 1987. This was the only record on
file at this agency for the indicated grower.
3.2 AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY REVIEW
The interpretation of historical aerial photographs is a useful method to obtain information
to assist in identifying past activities that may not be available in agency files or be
currently obvious.
137-88-1690 8
