KLEINFELDER
Several years of aerial photography were reviewed by Kleinfeider. The availabie
photography was limited. The photographs reviewed spanned the years 1963 to 1987.
Four years of stereoscopic aerial photographs were reviewed. The photographic review is
summarized by years as follows:
1963 - The subject site is being used for agriculture. The PG & E facility is present
in the southwest comer adjacent to the subject site. The Mobil Oil Bulk
Plant is present in the northwest comer of the subject site. The H. J. Heinz
facility is present approximately 1,000 feet south of the subject site. There
was obvious ground staining noted at the PG & E, Mobil Oil, and Heinz
facilities. The cause of the staining was not apparent from the photographs.
Other manufacturing facilities are visible to the west of the subject site across
the railroad tracks. No visible staining was associated with the
manufacturing facilities.
1975 - The former Handyman warehouse and associated facilities on Grant Line
Road are surrounded by the subject site on the west, south, and east. There
are no other significant changes from the 1963 photographs.
1985 - The subject site is still being used for agriculture. Commercial and industrial
development activities in the area have increased. No environmental
concerns were noted.
1987 - The Fortifiber manufacturing facility directly west of the PG & E facility has
visible piles of stored material, containers, and ground staining in the back
yard areas. The cause of the staining was not evident. There are no other
significant changes from the 1985 photographs.
3.3 SITE VISIT
The site visit was conducted to note the potential presence of tanks, wells, pipelines,
transformers, or materials suspected to contain asbestos, and to note surface indications of
past or present chemical use. storage. and/or disposal areas.
137-58-1690 9
