All water purged from each monitoring well and not used as a sample, will be placed in a 55 gallon DOT approved container, properly labeled and stored on site until its proper disposition can be arranged. 2.5 Soil and Groundwater Laboratory Analyses Based on field screening observations at least four soil samples from each boring including one from the capillary fringe will be submitted to a licensed analytical laboratory and analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX by EPA method 8020), and gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons analyses (TPH- GasoIine by EPA method 5030/8015m). The detection limits for these compounds are listed below. A Chain of Custody will be completed for all samples collected and tracked to ensure sample integrity. Detection Limits: BTEX TPH-Gas Water (µ /L) 0.3 50 Soil (µ /K ) 3.0 1,000 Water samples will be tested for BTEX using EPA method 602 and TPH-Gas using EPA method 5030/8015(m). The detection limits for these compounds in water are listed above in Table 1. We propose that two rounds of groundwater sampling occur, once shortly after well development and then again 30 days later. The results of both rounds will be reported in the report documenting the investigation. 3.0 SCHEDULE & REPORTING Once approved, it is intended that the this Work Plan be used as the bidding document for soliciting competitive bids for performing the work. The consultant upon being granted the contract will submit an addendum to this document which will include: • a site specific Health & Safety Plan, • an investigative methods Quality Assurance Program, • identification of the licensed professional geologist/engineer responsible for the project, • identification of the licensed C57 drilling contractor chosen for the project,
