I � <br /> ' groundwater contamination was found to extend north from the former Chevron Station to the <br /> ' Tracy Express Wash & Lube facility and east onto the 541 Site (Treadwell &Rollo, 2003 a) The <br /> former Chevron Station was determined to be the source of the contamination and Chevron paid <br /> ' for the cost of remediation at the Tracy Express Wash & Lube (SJC, 1999) <br /> Former Mobil Station—2375 Tracy Blvd Four USTs were removed in 1986 and 10,000 gallons <br /> of contaminated groundwater removed from the fuel LUST excavation(Treadwell & Rollo, <br /> ' 2003a) The groundwater beneath the former Mobil Station was significantly contaminated with <br /> gasoline, oil and grease, MTBE, and BTEX Diesel was not tested A pump and treat system <br /> ' was installed in 1988 to remove floating product In 1992, a product extraction system was <br /> installed at wells located at the northeast corner of the station <br /> Former Scotties Station - 574 West Grant Lane Road Three leaking fuel USTs were removed in <br /> 1998 and contaminated soil was excavated and removed offsite(ASE, 1998) The groundwater <br /> beneath the former Scotties Station was contaminated with gasoline, diesel, oil and grease, <br /> MTBE, and BTEX A waste oil tank was never identified or removed Based on a November <br /> 2000 report by Aquascience Engineers, Inc , a subsurface hydrogeologic clay barrier appears to <br /> ' be present to the northwest and downgradient of their site that may be directing groundwater to <br /> the west and northeast (toward the 541 Site) (ASE, 2000) An ozone sparging system has <br /> ' operated at the former Scotties Station (ASE, 2002) <br /> ' Chevron Fuel Pipeline— West Grant Line Road Chevron has a petroleum pipeline along West <br /> Grant Line Road oriented east-west near the centerline of the road (Figure 2) The 541 Site is <br /> ' located approximately 50 feet north of the pipeline The 6-inch carbon-steel pipeline has carried <br /> various refined fuel products including jet fuel, gasoline, and diesel since it was installed in 1965 <br /> ' (Pratt, 2003) The pipeline extends from the Central Valley to the Bay Area (Pratt, 2003) <br /> According to Chevron,het fuel has not been run through the line for several years (Myers, 2003) <br /> Field Investigation Report 6 8 December 2003 <br /> ' TREADWELL &ROLLO,INC <br />
