Mr. Howard Hold
August 16, 2004
Page 4
be followed. All samples will be placed in ice chests and kept at 4 degrees Centigrade until
analyzed. Samples will be delivered to the laboratory the same day they are collected.
The constituents to be analyzed are:
Field Paranivers
PH
Specific Conductance
Temperature
Turbidity
Dissolved Oxygen
Redox
Monitoring Parvuneteis
Total Dissolved Solids
Total Hardness
Aluminum
Bicarbonate
Calcium
Chloride
Magnesium
Nitrate
Potassium
Sodium
Sulfate
Evaluation Monitoring Report
Per the schedule specified in the July 15, 2004 tentative revised WDRs, an updated report
characterizing the impact to ground-water quality in the shallow and deep zones in the
vicinity of the ponds will be submitted by October 8,2004. This report will include the as-
built construction of the new monitoring facilities and the results of baseline sampling along
with updated isocontours of the areal and vertical extent of elevated chloride and total
dissolved solids in ground water. The wellheads will be surveyed and a round of ground-
water level measurements will be made in all network monitoring wells(new and existing).
The semi-annual ground-water sampling event will be coordinated in conjunction with the
sampling of the new facilities to provide ground-water level and quality data at a similar time
period for purposes of the updated analysis of site conditions.
The report will also include, as necessary, recommendations for another"phase"of
monitoring well installation if needed to satisfy the objectives of complete characterization of
saline water impacts, particularly in the shallow zone. The report will also describe the wells
that will be included in the corrective action monitoring network and program.
Schedule
In order to comply with the October 8,2004 deadline for submittal of the evaluation
monitoring report, construction of the new monitoring facilities is tentatively scheduled to
10 1w
