Notification of regulatory agencies during emergency procedures. <br /> 4. Enforcement of contaminant exposure site safety precautions. <br /> 5. Document all injuries and safety incidents. <br /> During excavation, stockpiling, and loading of soils containing residual pesticide contaminants, all <br /> personnel shall undertake the following precautions, Sections 2.2—2.5: <br /> 2.2 AIR MONITORING OFFICER RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> The Air Monitoring Officer shall implement the Air and Meteorological Monitoring Plan, to include <br /> monitoring of meteorological conditions and dust levels during all phases of the Removal Action <br /> including the following: <br /> 1. Perform real time particulate monitoring, as appropriate, to ensure contaminants are not <br /> migrating off the site or exceeding action levels in the exclusion zone and record results. <br /> 2. Perform real-time monitoring of meteorological conditions during all phases of site work <br /> using an on-site weather monitoring station. <br /> 3. Perform monitoring of personal dust monitors and fence line air monitors. <br /> 4. Inform all site personnel of current conditions. <br /> 2.3 SHIN/CLOTHES PROTECTION <br /> Steel-toed boots, long sleeves, long pants, and hard hats will be worn during all field activities as per <br /> Condor Earth Technologies, Inc. Injury and Illness Prevention Program (April 18, 2005). The site- <br /> specific personal protective equipment(PPE)for this project is Level D. <br /> Increased PPE such as respirators, disposable Tyvek suits, steel-toed rubber boots or steel-toed boots <br /> covered with disposable boots will be worn when deemed necessary by the Site Safety Officer in <br /> accordance with Site-specific conditions. Nitrile rubber gloves will be worn whenever skin contact <br /> with impacted soil is possible, such as during soil sampling activities. <br /> Disposable clothing will be discarded to an appropriate storage container as necessary. <br /> 2.4 EYE AND HEARING PROTECTION <br /> Safety glasses will be worn during all activities. Hearing protection is not anticipated to be needed, <br /> since workers will not be near construction equipment (scrapers) when in operation. Noise <br /> monitoring will not be conducted, since workers covered under this HASP will not be near <br /> construction equipment. <br /> 2.5 VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY <br /> All Condor vehicles used on site during the course of work shall be equipped with a first aid kit and a dry <br /> chemical fire extinguisher(10 BC minimum rating). <br /> All cabs are to be kept free of all non-essential items and all loose items secured. <br /> The rated load capacity of a vehicle is not to be exceeded at any time or under any circumstances. <br /> The Site Safety Officer shall review with all Condor personnel the equipment inspection checklist for <br /> Condor vehicles. The Site Safety Officer shall also confirm that adequate water is available at the site for <br /> emergency decontamination and washing. <br />
