The location Of the site is <br /> illustrated in Figure 1; a plan of the site is illustrated in Figure 2. <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> 2.1. SPIT.USE <br /> OnMay 20, 1993, soil samples were collected from beneath the former product lines at the site. <br /> Analysis of the soil samples indicated that hydreraarbon impacted roil was present in the area of the <br /> former product livres. The investigation was pezfornied and reported by Advance Soil Technology, <br /> Inc. (AST). <br /> On Jum 30, 1993,three underground storage tans(UM)were removed from the site: two 7,500- <br /> gallon urdeaded gsrsoline tanks and one 5,000-gallon diesel tank. The tanks were removed by Watton <br /> Engineering. <br /> Ground water was encountered in the,tank excavation, bound water swriples were w1lect.ed from <br /> the tank excavation. Analysis of the samples indicated that hydrocarbon impacted ground water was <br /> present at the site, <br /> 2.2. MTIAL INVESTIGATION <br /> On January S, 1994, five soil bearings were.drilleA at the site by AST Tbree of the borings were <br /> aornpleted as two-inchdiameter groundwater monitoring wells_ Laboratory analysis of soil samples <br /> from thu borings indicated low aancentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons in four of the live borings. <br /> Impacted ground water was present in samples f um two of the three m.ouito ing wells. <br /> Gxound water samples have been collected twice from each well at the site. Ground water occurs at <br /> a depth of approximately 8 feet and the hydraulic gradient was calculated to be toward the north and <br />
