(except as
noted) on behalf of ContiGroup Companies, Inc. (ContiGroup) for the French Camp Grain Elevator
facility at 9504 South Harlan Road in French Camp:
• 29 April 2004 First Quarter 2004 Groundwater Monitoring Report (First QMR);
• 29 July 2004 Second Quarter 2004 Groundwater Monitoring Report(Second QMR);
• 28 October 2004 Third Quarter 2004 Groundwater Monitoring Report(Third QMR);
• January 2005 Baseline Summary Report(Baseline Report) submitted by Huff&Huff,
Inc.; and
• 26 January 2005 2004 Annual Groundwater Monitoring Report(Annual Report).
The First, Second, Third, and Annual Reports discuss groundwater sampling activities conducted
in March, June, August, and November 2004, respectively. The Annual Report includes
information regarding the proposed granular zero valent iron injection, including baseline
sampling results and a health and safety plan. The Baseline Report summarizes sampling results
and discusses the methods to determine baseline concentrations for monitoring wells MW-3B
and MW-4B, as required by Waste Discharge Requirements No. R5-2004-0160 (Order).
ContiGroup used two different methods to determine baseline concentrations. Both methods are
from USEPA for single observation triggers and was provided in Appendix A of the Baseline
Report. The difference in method depends on the number of sampling data points. Based on the
number of samples for carbon tetrachloride and chloroform, Method 1 was used because there
was sufficient data. Baseline levels for all other constituents of concern were calculated using
Method 2. The explanation of the calculations for Methods 1 and 2 are provided in Section 2.0
of the Baseline Report.
California Environmental Protection Agency
pd Recycled Paper
