HARLAN ROAD, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> At its regular meeting on 25 January 2008, the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board rescinded Waste Discharge Requirements No. R5-2004-0160 (WDRs) adopted on <br /> 15 October 2004. The WDRs prescribed conditions and monitoring specific for injection of <br /> zero valent iron into the subsurface at 9504 South Harlan Road to evaluate treatment of <br /> carbon tetrachloride and other chlorinated compounds. <br /> The injection was completed and three years of post-injection monitoring have shown that the <br /> influence of the iron is localized at the injection points, and downgradient constituents remain <br /> at or below baseline concentrations. ContiGroup Companies are conducting a pilot-scale <br /> study evaluating.groundwater recirculation through the injected iron. Monitoring of the iron <br /> treatment has been incorporated into Monitoring and Reporting Program No. R5-2007-0826, <br /> which was issued on 5 December 2007.
