PHS/EHD has the following
comments for your consideration.
Quarterly Report
Two soil borings were drilled on November 3, 1994 which were converted to monitoring
wells, MW6 and vapor well, VW4. Soil contamination was documented from 6.5 to 41.5 feet
below ground surface (bgs) during the installation of VW4. No soil contamination was
documented in soil samples collected at 35.5 and 46.5 feet bgs during the installation of
MW6.
The fourth quarter monitoring event occurred on December 16, 1993 and groundwater
sample results indicated continued contamination of MW1 and MW5. Groundwater
contamination was also documented in MW2 and MW3. While this quarterly report
included problem assessment information, efforts should still continue to submit quarterly
report in a timely manner.
Problem Assessment Report
The report included the soil and groundwater sample results which were obtained during the
investigation through the fourth quarter 1993. Soil contamination has been generally
!i characterized at the site. The extent of the groundwater contamination has been defined.
Maps were included which indicated the extent of soil contamination at 0 - 21.5 feet, 21 -
; 40 feet and 41 - 46.5 feet bgs. Soil borings, B2 and B3, indicated a shallow soil
contamination plume around the underground storage tanks which are currently operating
and which were slated for removal and replacement. The original soil investigation was
designed as a preliminary tank removal assessment. Soil boring, B12, indicated soil
contamination associated in the former waste oil tank area.
j
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
