'jam j- r
• 02 March 1999
- AGE-NC Project No 98-0448 „
washed prior to starting the boring
4 4 WELL DEVELOPMENT
Development will consist of a combination of balling and ground water pumping to remove the
mayor portion of fine-grained sediment from Inside the well and surging to flush out or draw in
sediment from the filter pack Development activities will be continued until field parameter(pH,
electrical conductivity, and temperature) readings have stabilized
4 5 DRAWDOWN PILOT TEST
A drawdown pilot test will be performed to evaluate feasibility of ground water drawdown in
conjunction with SVE '
• A water drawdown pump will be utilized to mduce a decline in static water level from the extraction
well, pressure transducers will be deployed in all wells to measure difference in ground water levels
before well pumping versus during well pumping Ground water pumping rates will be increased at
regular intervals to achieve optimum pumping rate for the greatest drawdown influence Results of
the drawdown pilot test will be included in a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) and submitted to PHS-
EHD
Purged ground water will be containerized in a 20,000-gallon Baker tank, composite "grab" ground
water samples will be collected from the Baker tank for analysis of TPH-g, BTEX and MTBE The
purged ground water will be discharged Into the City of Stockton sewer system pending regulatory
approval or be transported to a suitable hazardous waste facility The duration of the drawdown pilot
test will be approximately 8-hours
46 SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION WELL INSTALLATION
Installation of two SVE wells are proposed utilizing a truck-mounted drill rig equipped with 8-inch
diameter hollow stem augers Hollow stem augers will be pressure cleaned prior to advancement in
each borehole The SVE wells will be advanced to a depth of approximately 35 feet bsg and
completed with 2-inch diameter, schedule 40 PVC well casing Each well will utilize 15 feet of
slotted well casing (0 010-inch screen size) All PVC well casing will be emplaced through the
hollow stem augers A#212 Lonestar Lapis Luster sand will be poured down the annulus between
the well casing and the inner wall of the hollow stem auger The filter pack will be placed adjacent
to the screen from the bottom of the boring to a point approximately 2 feet above the top of the
Advanced GeoEn,.ironmentai,Inc
