SECOR -
Mr. Mike Infurna,
July 15, 2005
Page 3
• Installation of Well MW-22. Following the termination of the borehole at
approximately 22 feet bgs, the borehole will then be converted to a two-
inch diameter groundwater monitoring well (MW-22). The well will be
constructed as proposed in the initial and addendum work plans, using
Schedule 40 polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with approximately 15 feet of
0.020-inch, slotted screen extending from approximately 7 feet to 22 feet
bgs.
• Monitoring Well Development/Sampling/Analysis. As previously
proposed, the groundwater monitoring well will be developed following
installation by rigorously surging the well over the length of the screen
interval, and by purging approximately 10 casing volumes of water.
Groundwater samples will be collected and submitted to STL for analysis
of GRO, BTEX, fuel oxygenates (MtBE, DIPE, TAME, EtBE, TBA,
ethanol), and lead scavengers 1,2-DCA and EDB by EPA Method
8260B.
• Well Surveying and EDF Upload. Following installation, the newly
installed groundwater monitoring well will be surveyed by a licensed
surveyor to a local benchmark relative to mean sea level. Survey data
including elevation, longitude, and latitude will be uploaded to the State
Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) Geotracker database
(www.swrcb.geotracker.ca.gov) in compliance with Assembly Bill 2886
requirements.
Soil and Water Disposal. Soil cuttings and purgelrinsate water
generated during well installation activities will temporarily be stored in
California Department of Transportation (DOT)-approved, 55-gallon, steel
drums on-site pending characterization and disposal. The drums
containing soil and rinsatelpurge water will be removed by Filter
Recycling Services (FRS), and transported to their facility for proper
disposal.
• Report. Following the completion of well installation activities, SECOR
will submit a report documenting the findings of this assessment, and the
previous assessment (installation of wells MW-23 and MW-24). The
results from both investigation phases will be submitted as part of a site
conceptual model (SCM), as requested by SJCEHD in correspondence
dated September 28, 2004. The SCM will include a summary of the
following: site background, previous investigations and remedial action,
results of the installation of wells MW-22 through MW-24, geologic and
hydrogeologic setting, distribution of petroleum hydrocarbons and fuel
oxygenates in soil and groundwater, conclusions, and recommendations
for future work if needed.
11195 Second Addendum to 9-04 WP.doc SECOR International Incorporated
