5.0 PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK
The proposed scope of work for the advancement of the six borings, soil sampling, monitoring
well installation, and groundwater monitoring and sampling is outlined below. Proposed boring
locations are shown on Figure 2. Field work will be performed in accordance with the HASP
presented in Appendix A.
5.1 Pre-Field Activities
Partner will delineate the work areas with white spray paint and notify Underground Services Alert
North to clear public utility lines as required by law at least 48 hours prior to drilling activities.
Partner will also retain a private utility locator for the purpose of clearing specific boring locations
using magnetometers and ground penetrating radar to identify, but not be limited to, electrical
lines, sewer laterals, and storm water conduits. Boring locations will be adjusted accordingly and
if needed to avoid underground utilities.
5.2 Drilling Permits
Partner will obtain the required drilling permits from the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department (SJCEHD).
5.3 Proposed Soil Sample Collection and Analysis Methodology
The proposed soil sampling methodology is presented below.
5.3.1 Hollow Stem Auger Borings
Borings MW-1, MW-2 and MW-3 will be advanced to a total depth of 35 feet bgs using a truck-
mounted HSA drill rig. In lieu of observed impacts, soil samples will be collected from borings
MW-1, MW-2 and MW-3 at depths of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 feet bgs using a 2-inch diameter
California modified split-spoon sampler with three 6-inch long brass or stainless steel liners. At
approximately 1.5 feet above the desired sampling depth, the split-spoon sampler attached to the
center drill string will be driven within the auger column into the subsurface using the drill rig
hammer system to allow undisturbed soil to enter the sampler a maximum of 18 inches or until
refusal (i.e., hammer blow count of at least 50). The sampler will be retrieved from the subsurface,
Additional Site Assessment Work Plan
Heliostockton Property
434 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.Boulevard
Stockton,California
Partner Project Number SM17-191672
RWQCB Case#:392004
January 9,2018
Page 9
