In addition to the personnel protection specified, all excavation personnel <br /> will be covered by medical monitoring programs and will have received the 40 <br /> hour OSHA required training for workers participating in hazardous waste <br /> operations. <br /> 3.2 Public Safety <br /> Public health and safety considerations are to be addressed by assuring <br /> ' that airborne dust or air emissions do not migrate beyond the work zone and that <br /> no physical hazards are created by the excavation. While some operational <br /> practices directed at public health and safety issues have previously been <br /> discussed, the following is a listing of minimum measures to be taken at the site: <br /> 3.2.1 Access and Traffic Control <br /> In addition to the working zones being designated as discussed in Section <br /> 3.1.A above, additional barricades will be positioned to keep plant operations <br /> personnel away from the excavation and all excavation activities will be conducted <br /> on the weekend.
