' Fourth Quarter/Annual
2008 Groundwater
ARCADIS Monitoring Report
' Chevron Bulk Fuel Terminal
100-1621
' 22888 Kasson Road
Banta,California
Groundwater monitoring and sampling Feld data sheets are presented in Appendix A.
' Purge water and equipment decontamination water generated during the sampling
event was collected by G-R,transported by G-R to their temporary storage facility in
Dublin, California and staged until it could be properly disposed of by Integrated Waste
' Management(IWM).
Newly Installed Wells
' ARCADIS collected water level measurements from 18 newly installed monitoring wells
on November 3,4, 11, 12 and 13,of 2008.The newly installed monitoring wells are
named: MW-70UA, MW-70A,MW-70B, MW-71UA, MW-71 A, MW-71B, MW-72UA,
MW-72A, MW-72B, MW-73UA, MW-73A,MW-73B, MW-74UA, MW-74A, MW-74B,
MW-75UA, MW-75A and MW-756. Survey data is not currently available for the newly
' installed wells;therefore, water level measurements could not be used to calculate the
water table elevation at each well.
' Groundwater samples were subsequently collected from the 18 newly installed and
developed monitoring wells.Groundwater samples were collected in accordance with
CaIEPA procedures outlined in Representative Sampling of Groundwater for
' Hazardous Substances(CaIEPA, 1995).
An approximate ten well volume purging and sample technique was performed using a
decontaminated stainless steel and disposable bailer for groundwater purging and
sample collection. Monitoring and sampling was conducted using the following series
of activities and protocols:
' • During the purge cycle, groundwater field parameter measurements consisting
of specific conductance, pH,turbidity and temperature were measured using a
groundwater quality meter
• Approximately ten times the volume of standing water was removed from the
sampled monitoring wells and field parameters were recorded on a well
' volume basis(due to dewatering,monitoring wells MW-72A, MW-74UA and
MW-75A were not purged ten well volumes)
• Pre-purge and post-purge measurements were taken for dissolved oxygen and
oxygen reduction potential
' 4of17
