Focused Groundwater Investigation Work Plan <br /> Deuel Vocational Institution(DVI), Tracy, California Physical Setting <br /> 3.0 Physical Setting <br /> This section presents the geologic and hydrogeologic setting for the project site. <br /> 3.1 Topography, Climate, and Setting <br /> The project site sits at an approximate elevation of 17 feet above mean sea level and has little topographic <br /> variation. The climate of Tracy is classified as a warm summer Mediterranean climate,with rainy winters <br /> and dry hot summers.Average precipitation is approximately 13.05 inches annually <br /> (www.usclimatedata.com). Tracy is the second largest city in San Joaquin County. <br /> 3.2 Geology and Hydrology <br /> The San Joaquin Valley makes up the southern section of the Great Valley of California. The Sierra <br /> Nevada and the Coast Range create the east and west borders of the San Joaquin Valley,respectively. The <br /> geology of the Great Valley is characterized as thick sequences of sedimentary materials of Jurassic <br /> through Holocene age. <br /> 3-1 <br />
