Brown Sand,Inc.
Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures Plan Page: 13
June 3, 2020
3.4.4 Drainage of Un-Diked Areas (40 CFR 112.8(b)(3))
There are no un-diked areas of the facility that have a potential to discharge oil as
a result of a release. Tank loading/ unloading procedures are closely followed as
outlined in Section 3.11 in order to prevent a release from occurring, and the
Spill/Discharge Response Plan, located in Section 4.0 of this plan, outlines the
facility's spill response procedures.
3.4.5 Overfill Prevention Systems (40 CFR 112.8(e)(8))
The On-road diesel tank, gasoline tank, and two off-road diesel tanks are equipped
with ST90 wireless tank monitor, electronic liquid sensing devices and tank level
gauges. Loading/unloading procedures are discussed in Section 3.11. All sensing
devices and gauges are inspected and tested on a regular basis to ensure proper
operation.
Prior to the filling of the waste oil tank, the liquid volume is measured with a
calibrated measuring stick, as well as periodically during filling activities.
Storage drums or small containers are not refilled; therefore, they do not require an
overfill prevention system.
3.4.6 Visible Discharges (40 CFR 112.8(c)(10))
Visible discharges from any container or appurtenance, including seams, gaskets,
piping, pumps, valves, rivets, and bolts, are quickly corrected upon discovery. Oil
is promptly cleaned up and removed from the facility in accordance with the waste
disposal method described in Section 4.7 of this plan.
3.4.7 Mobile and Portable Containers (40 CFR 112.8(c)(11))
Small portable storage containers(i.e. 55-gallon drums) are stored inside the Drum
Storage Area. Any spilled material is quickly contained and cleaned up using
absorbent material and appropriate cleaning products as outlined in the
Spill/Discharge Response Plan, located in Section 4.0 of this plan.
3.4.8 Corrosion Protection (40 CFR 112.8(c)(4))
There are no underground storage tanks or underground product lines present at
this facility. Therefore, corrosion protection is not applicable to this facility.
